Sylvia’s hometown is Brooklyn, New York. Sylvia’s childhood ambition was to learn how to dance, but she also wanted to be a teacher. Some of Sylvia’s hobbies are exercise, reading and listening to music. Sylvia studied in Puerto Rico. She studied education. Before teaching English as a Second Language at EVCS, she was studying and working in Puerto Rico. What made Sylvia come to EVCS was the fact that it is small and a community. She also really likes the school’s philosophy.
Sylvia believes that she should know her students. She also believes that she needs to earn their trust in order to teach them. The hardest thing about Sylvia’s job is working with standards and doing paper work. Sylvia loves all the kids in EVCS because she thinks thier bright. She thinks that they are unique and that have so many stories to tell about themselves. Sylvia hopes for her students to become good leaders and always work with the best of thier potentials.
